How I Edit My Instagram Photos

IMG_8645-2

A question I get asked all the time is how I edit my instagram photos. I have two accounts, my fashion/blog one and then my photography one ( @superficialgirl & @campsbaygirl_ )

What do I use to take my photos:

A lot of the time I will use my phone (iphone 4s) for my superficialgirls account, I used to do iphone only for both accounts, except of course when its an outfit photo that Mike took. Now I use either my phone, my Canon EOS 650D or our new Gopro which is amazing for selfies in beautiful places!

My top 5 Editing apps:

1. Snapseed:

This is definitely the one I use the most and that I usually start off with. It makes photos brighter, enhances colors and warmth and generally just makes everything look prettier! Instagram just intruduced a new feature where you can do almost all those things on the app but I still prefer using snapseed for now!

2. VSCOcam:

I mostly use this app on my campsbaygirl account. I love that it gives photos a soft feel but just be careful when you choose filters as it can sometimes change the colors completely. I would say this is best for landscape, nature and building shots.

3. Faded:

I love this app for its filters and light leaks, I dont usually use major effect on my photos but sometimes when the dreamy mood strikes me it comes in handy!

4. Typic+:

If I feel the need to add text or cute images to my photos I use typic+. It lets you choose colors, fonts, shadows and more (plus it has the cutest geek glasses, moustaches and other funky little pics)

5: Diptic:

I always get asked how I do my mirror photos when I put up outfits on instagram. I have been using diptic to do that forever.

Sometimes if its the right type of photo I will use the Valencia filter from instagram as my last bit of editing as it gives my photos a nice warm feel!

An exciting discussion is worth comment. I believe which you should write far more on this subject, it may not be a taboo topic but commonly people aren’t sufficient to speak on such topics. Towards the subsequent. Cheers
